What a pleasure it is to go to Carrow Road on a match day again. Gone are the days of driving to games in more of hope than expectation. What Paul Lambert, his management team and the players have done in the last four months is nothing short of miraculous.

There's always a disadvantage when Norwich have a bit of success, not that we've won anything yet, the media start asking the questions of whether we have to sell our better players.

Lambert said in the papers earlier in the week that if he sold Holt and Hoolahan the fans would burn the stadium down. He's not wrong! There would be absolute uproar.

He's found the best position to play Wes in, who must be in the form of his life and, as for Holt, I don't think any of us expected him to score 19 goals in all competitions before we even got to Christmas. Let's hope by Saturday evening it's 20.

Holt is quickly becoming a Carrow Road hero. Why would he want to leave? He's already said he will honour his three-year contract and if we consolidate our position in the Championship and then push for promotion to the Premier League he'll probably be here a lot longer.

We at last have a manager who could make us into serious promotion candidates once we get back to the Championship. As the Championship stands there's probably only Newcastle and West Brom who we may struggle against. If we played some of teams in there right now, I'd have every confidence we'd beat them.

I watched a bit of Scunthorpe v Coventry last weekend and it was dire to say the least, Coventry looked nothing without former City player Sammy Clingan. I think they would struggle to cope with our 40-goal strike force.

To think after that first game of the season, we'd be the second-highest goalscorers in League One is amazing and to have a plus goal difference, we're not used to that!

With the busy Christmas period just around the corner, it's going to be really interesting to see what happens in the next three weeks or so. Hopefully Charlton will start to slip up a bit and we can take advantage and move into that second automatic promotion spot.

I know nothing is won or lost at Christmas but it would be great going into the new year in the top two and we can then really kick on and hopefully reach our ultimate goal come May - promotion back to the Championship. Going to Wembley would be great but I'll quite happily only go once for the Johnstone's Paint Final.
