It's a case of the more the merrier for Lee Clark as he faces up to a difficult Christmas programme.

Clark brings his side to Norwich today, before a Boxing Day trip to Carlisle United and a home game against MK Dons on Monday, December 28.

But with Danny Drinkwater, Tom Clarke and Robbie Simpson all coming through a week of full training with no problems, Clark has plenty of selection options.

Striker Simpson, reportedly a target for City in the summer before he left Coventry for the Galpharm, and on-loan Manchester United man Drinkwater have been sidelined by thigh injuries while Clarke has had minor knee surgery.

Clarke and Drinkwater could challenge Jim Goodwin and James Berrett for a starting berth.

"I've got options, and that's a great position to be in," said Clark.

"We've got a series of vital games coming up and the more players available, the better."

Town made an early start from Yorkshire yesterday because of the weather conditions.

Clark cancelled the usual light training session, opting to head south instead.

"The weather does change our preparation as it would have just been a light session, but given that we might spend more time travelling we felt it was best to get the lads down there in good time so they can prepare for the game," he said.
