Kyle Phillips is hoping to dispel the idea that he will be the busiest player on the pitch on Saturday - but the 20-year-old stands between Norwich's strike force and a possible goal-fest at Paulton.

Phillips is Paulton's goalkeeper, but while his team are rank outsiders in the battle of the first round's David and Goliath teams, he insists that nothing should be taken for granted.

"People expect I will have quite a bit to do," said the 20-year-old. "But at the back we have been playing very well. We have a settled back five with myself now and we have been doing well, although obviously we haven't come up against a strike-force like Norwich's is going to be.

"But the lads are very confident and we will just treat it like a normal game and do our best.

"It's such a massive game and you have everything that goes along with it, but that is how we have got here and we have got to do our best to try and treat it as we have the last four rounds.

"It's massive for the club, but then no one is expecting anything from us. We can only be winners - if we play well but lose we have done brilliantly; if we get a result it is going to be fantastic."

So what does Phillips - who works for manager Andy Jones' wholesale flower business - know about the Canaries?

"Honestly? Not too much," he admitted. "I obviously know they are a massive club, they were in the Premier League around five years ago and in Europe a few years before then. The present team have been doing quite well - I know they thrashed Bristol Rovers a few weeks ago and they were unlucky against Leeds, so they have been doing quite well. On current form they are going to be in a buoyant mood, but if we are lucky they might turn up to somewhere like this and not fancy it - it will be different to anything they are used to. What will be, will be."

Both teams will be unused to a crowd of just over 2,000, for very different reasons.

"This is the biggest crowd this place has ever seen by a mile," said Phillips. "They are a good lot."

A City contingent of 500 will be down one end - and sure to let the youngster know if he puts a foot wrong.

"I just ignore that sort of thing," he said. "There is no point biting back because they will just get on your back even more, it is all part and parcel of games like this, but I enjoy it."
