Wrexham will be aiming to get a damaging late setback out of their systems when they entertainLowestoft Town in the first round of the FACup onSaturday.

With Blues joint manager Ady Gallagher and coach Craig Fleming looking on,Wrexham dropped two precious Conference points at Kettering onTuesday night when Mike Williams conceded a penalty in the fifth minute of injury time.

Despite going behind after just four minutes, a bizarre own goal and first of the season from Ashley Westwood gave Wrexham a thoroughly deserved 2-1 lead at the break - but Kettering's last-gasp equaliser undid much of the good work.

Manager Dean Saunders believes his side deserved to win following their impressive performance and was understandably distraught with the ending.

"We have absolutely battered them in the first half after losing the goal early on," said Saunders.

"And to lose the goal with 95 minutes on the clock out of nothing is gutting.

"We played great but really we should have scored more, 7-1 would have been a fair half-time scoreline.

"We scored two good goals and came back but the game should have been over by half-time. With the performance, that was probably the best we have played.

"In the second half we had more chances again, played well and did not feel like we were in any trouble. The goalkeeper has made an unbelievable save at the end for us to make it 3-1 from Curtis Obeng.

"And then you saw what happened at the end. That is the type of thing that stops you getting promoted, gets you relegated and gets the manager the sack. It is unbelievable, ridiculous.

"The way that happened it is really, really hard to take as a manager."

Saunders had no arguments with the penalty decision after Williams brought down John Dempster.

"There is no arguments from me with the penalty. I was the other side of the pitch and he probably could have given two penalties for that, it was that blatant," added Saunders.

The draw left Wrexham 14th in the Conference, 10 points clear of the relegation zone - and 10 points adrift of the play-off positions.
