Keeper Emily P proved unbeatable although the visitors did spurn two golden chances in the first half.
Charlotte and Lucy were magnificent in defence and with Zoe, Robyn and Keira prepared to run and tackle they matched their opponents for determination. Lone striker Lauren found it difficult to break through the well-organised City defence.
Phoebe was introduced into midfield for a spell in the second half and new signing Rowena was given her first taste of competitive football.
Zoe scored the only goal of the match when following a run down the right her cross/shot proved too hot to handle for the opposing keeper.
