The FA have confirmed they are investigating the half-time tunnel bust-up during Saturday's 2-2 draw with Charlton at Carrow Road.

Players from both sides clashed as the first half came to an end, moments after referee Steve Tanner decided to only have a stern word with Addicks midfielder Nicky Bailey after he appeared to kick out at Norwich skipper Grant Holt.

Wes Hoolahan had scored for Norwich just a minute before, to make the score 2-1 to the visitors, before Bailey's frustrations boiled over in front of the two dugouts.

Tanner mentioned the incidents in his match report, leading to the FA's subsequent enquiry, although he decided against issuing Bailey with either a red or yellow card after his indiscretion.

And when the half-time whistle blew, a number of City players took their turn at confronting the referee, while manager Paul Lambert waited at the touchline to speak to Tanner himself - and it is believed the players continued the arguments out of sight of most of the spectators, down the tunnel.

An FA spokesman said: “We are aware of the incident in question and we are making enquiries accordingly.

“Depending on those enquiries, we will decide if any further action will be necessary.”
