Wroxham welcome back experienced keeper Scott Howie for this afternoon's FA Cup extra preliminary round trip to Wellingborough. The ex-Linnets stopper missed the midweek 3-2 league defeat against Mildenhall. Yachtsmen secretary Chris Green admits the club face a tough task to emulate last season's run to the third preliminary round, when they lost 2-0 to King's Lynn at Trafford Park.

“If we manage to get past Wellingborough then we face either Dereham or Leiston and after that Lowestoft so it doesn't get any easier,” said Green.

Norfolk FA officials have confirmed the result of Wroxham's midweek league defeat will stand after it emerged former player Steve Harley had now paid all his outstanding fines to the club following his close season switch to Mildenhall.

Dereham have home advantage in their intriguing looking tie against another of last season's high-fliers Leiston. Striker Robbie Harris is poised to feature after suffering concussion in the midweek 3-2 Ridgeons Premier Division home defeat to Ely. Graham Barrett is doubtful while Nicky Howell and Paul Atkins are both ruled out.

Magpies' chief Matty Henman has added reserve team skipper Scott Woodgate and Simon Mowbray to his squad for the cup tie.

Elsewhere Kirkley and Pakefield travel to Walsham-le-Willows while Norwich United visit Corby-based Stewarts and Lloyds.

Yarmouth boss Paul Tong is confident his men can upset Raunds after the Bloaters' unbeaten start to the campaign. Yarmouth drew 2-2 against Diss in midweek after an impressive 3-1 win on the opening day at Ipswich Wanderers.

“The pitch was poor and they gave us a tough game,” said manager Paul Tong. “But we got the breaks at the right time. Great credit to Jake (Reed) for the way he took his goals - he belied his tender years to finish very coolly.

“Stewart Roach broke a bone in his foot in the summer so we're very pleased he is back and showing why he is an invaluable part of the team. But we've got a great team spirit throughout, and there's high potential in the young lads who play for us. However, one swallow doesn't make a summer - or a season - and we have a tough month of fixtures ahead of us. But it's so far, so good.”

Ridgeons League rivals Wisbech face Ely in an FA Cup extra preliminary battle of the Fens today at the Unwin Ground.

Wisbech player/boss Gary Setchell is predicting a pulsating derby after watching Ely's midweek 3-2 win against Dereham.

“They had a cracking result,” he said. “We're two hard-working teams so it's set to be a cracker.”

Setchell praised his men's efforts despite a 1-0 Ridgeons Premier loss at CRC outfit 24 hours later.

“The lads played an unbelievable game on Wednesday,” he said. “CRC had a very strong side with several Cambridge United players in their squad and we were incredibly unlucky.”

Diss Town are at home to Cogenhoe today while Gorleston visit Cornard.
