Norwich City boss Bryan Gunn has made his fourth signing by snapping up prolific non-League striker Cody McDonald from Dartford on a 1-year contract for an undisclosed fee, with the option of a longer-term deal.

McDonald, 22, has scored 19 goals in 20 appearances in all competitions for the Darts this season, including four in his last three games.

Gunn brought the striker to Colney for a two-day trial last week and watched the striker in Dartford's 1-0 win over Maidstone at the weekend.

McDonald signed for the Ryman League Premier Division side in October 2008 from Maldon Town, one league below. Previously he played for his home town club Witham Town.

Charlton Athletic, Crystal Palace and Reading are also said to have been watching McDonald, who has been allocated City's squad number 27.
