Norwich City's on-loan winger, David Carney, played just three minutes as a substitute for Australia as they drew 0-0 in today's World Cup qualifier in Japan.
Carney replaced Mark Bresciano at the 90-minute mark and played the remaining stoppage time as the Aussies collected a vital point in front of 65,000 people in Yokohama.
Australia, who won their first three qualifiers, stay top of Oceania Group A, two points ahead of Japan.
The Sheffield United forward, on loan with City for the rest of the season, flies back to rejoin the Canaries tomorrow in time to travel to Preston on Friday, ahead of Saturday's game at Deepdale.
