Norwich City full-back Dimitris Giannoulis was defeated in international action on Sunday night, with his Greece side losing 2-1 to Hungary.
Giannoulis started the game for the visitors at the Puskas Arena, playing the first 68 minutes before being replaced by Giorgios Kyriakopoulos.
Gus Poyet's side were 1-0 down at the time, after Roland Salla's strike had opened the scoring for the hosts. Anastasios Bakasetas equalised in the 81st minute with a penalty for Greece, who were heartbroken by Zsolt Kalmar's 93rd minute winner.
That brought an end to the friendly internationals City players were involved with last week, with all attentions now on American striker Josh Sargent at the World Cup.
Meanwhile, City's other players will embark on a training camp in Tampa Bay, Florida, before returning to the UK to play against a Premier League club in a behind-closed-doors friendly.
They return to action on 10 December away at Swansea City, when the World Cup break ends for Championship clubs.
