Norwich City forward Josh Sargent made a 12-minute cameo for the USA in their 0-0 World Cup draw with England.

Sargent replaced Haji Wright in the 83rd minute as Gregg Berhalter looked to add some impetus to a sterile fixture, but he couldn’t help his side to more than a point in their second group game.

Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic came closest for the Americans when he hit the bar, while Harry Kane’s stoppage-time header would’ve won Gareth Southgate’s side the game had it not dropped agonisingly wide.

Next up for Sargent’s side are Iran, who shocked Wales earlier in the day. They face Sargent’s side at 7pm on Tuesday, with both teams in with a chance of qualifying for the last 16.

The Canaries, meanwhile, are in the midst of a warm weather training camp in Sargent’s native country, before a trip to face Swansea City on 10 December after the World Cup break.
