Twenty-five games to go and it’s still all to play for in The Championship.

Norwich are just six points from the automatic promotion places, and by no means is a top two finish out of the question in my opinion.

If you ask me the World Cup break couldn’t have come at a better time for Dean Smith and his players.

With just two wins in 10 games going into the break I’m convinced a few weeks without a game would have done more good than harm. But there’s no more excuses, Dean simply has to get his team selection right and the players performing at a higher level than they did in their opening 21 league games.

It's a real strange one as tomorrow feels like the start of a new season, a fresh start for everyone.

Those teams who were flying before the break - are they going to pick up from where they left?

Those teams who were in a bit of a rut and not playing well before the break, Norwich included, it gives them an opportunity to catch up with the leaders but they have to hit the ground running.

There’s no time for four or five games to get into your stride, it must start tomorrow at The swansea.com stadium.

There are a few players who need to do more in this second half of the season.

With just one clean sheet in their last 10 games big Grant Hanley needs to get hold of that defence.

He’s the main man back there, he’s the leader.

Todd Cantwell is out of contract at the end of the season, goodness knows where his future lies but one thing is for sure if he’s going to get his dream move back to the Premier League he needs to start performing.

No goals in 18 appearances simply isn’t good enough from a player we know has got the quality needed. I don’t think he’s created many either which is equally as concerning for everyone concerned.

I love Teemu Pukki. What he’s done for the football club is phenomenal. He will go down as an all-time great and rightly so. But looking back at those first 21 games he hasn’t been himself. He’s not reached the standards at this level that we know he’s capable of. His six goals in 20 appearances is disappointing for someone with his record in the Championship.

He’s needs to get going again against Swansea this weekend. I’m really looking forward to this game tomorrow; I’ll be travelling down later today as Swansea is just that bit too far to go there and back in a day.

Swansea sit in eighth, just a point behind Norwich. Like Norwich they would have welcomed this World Cup break with open arms. With no wins in their last five league games, they’ve fallen out of the top six.

Having finished 15th last season there was pressure going into this new season on Russell Martin which increased massively when the Swans won just one of their opening seven games. However, performances improved dramatically as they won seven of their next nine, lifting them into the play-off positions.

Since Russ took over at Swansea there's been an obsession with having to play from the back which is great to watch but not always practical. I’ve lost count both last season and this at the amount of goals they’ve conceded trying to force things from their keeper.

Swansea’s style of play has changed slightly since their 1-1 draw away to Stoke at the end of August when yet again goalkeeper Andy Fisher looked for a pass that wasn’t there and gave away a goal in the very last minute of the game. He’s not played a league since!

Russ’s men now take a few less risks defensively and at times go from back to front quickly which might surprise many of you from a Russell Martin team.

On their day, they are a very good side and a pleasure to watch, but when they are bad, they are very bad and there's no wonder they’ve the sixth worst defensive record in league.
