Tomorrow, January 21, Norwich City will face Coventry after a storming victory against Preston last weekend.

But today we are turning back the clocks to January 16, 1993 to relive Norwich City's home game at Carrow Road against the Sky Blues.

City had scored in each of their first 18 games in the 1992-93 Premier League season.

But as the squad prepared for this outing they had not found the back of the net in six matches.

Manager Mike Walker speculated that the talk of this goal drought was starting to get to the players.

Our report at the time described how City created more chances in this game than they had in the previous five.

Chris Sutton finally ended the goalless streak after receiving a pass from Ruel Fox and slotting the ball into the bottom right corner.

But it was not enough to secure the win.

For those who attended the game, you might recall Coventry boss Bobby Gould lost his cool after Bryan Gunn saved Brian Borrows' 56th-minute penalty.

Gunn conceded the penalty when he brought down John Williams.

The Sky Blues then scored, but the referee had already blown for the penalty.

Gunn went unpunished and the failure to convert the chance added insult to injury for the visitors.

Three days earlier, City had beaten Coventry 1-0 in the FA Cup and Gould was sent off for shouting at the linesmen.

The league point left the Canaries second in the top tier.
