Norwich City striker Tyrese Omotoye has joined League One Forest Green on a permanent deal.

The 20-year-old forward, who made thee senior league appearances for the Canaries in the 2020/21 Championship title winning season, will link up with the strugglers.

Omotoye was a prolific scorer at development level but following his brief first team exposure under Daniel Farke had loan spells at Swindon, Orient and Carlisle.

The frontman was under contract at Carrow Road until 2024 after he signed his first professional deal with the club in 2019.

Omotoye made 11 appearances in Premier League 2 this season, scoring three goals.

“I’m delighted to be here. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the club," he said, speaking to his new club's official site.

“It was a no-brainer. It’s a good club to be at. I wanted to have a home and a bit of stability.

“I love to score goals. I want to come in and score as many goals as possible.”

Omotoye will wear the number 30 shirt and could make his Rovers debut at Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday night.

The Canaries have some highly-rated teenage attacking talent now pushing for development minutes this season.

Omotoye was well down the pecking order under current Norwich head coach David Wagner, with the German already indicating experienced back up Jordan Hugill is not part of his longer term plans.

Teemu Pukki, Josh Sargent and Adam Idah are the frontline options for the remainder of the Canaries' promotion push this season.
