Norwich City winger Christos Tzolis has cut his loan at FC Twente short to return to Carrow Road, the Canaries have confirmed.

Tzolis joined the Eredivisie side in the summer after a difficult start to life in Norfolk followed his £8.8million signing, but will now return to his parent club after six months in The Netherlands.

He's expected to play a role with David Wagner's first team, who contacted the Reds to discuss cutting the loan short due to lack of depth in wide areas. They agreed to a mutual consent return, with no recall option included in the original deal.

The Greek international arrived with significant expectation after moving from PAOK in the summer of 2021. He failed to make an impact on City's Premier League survival bid, however, starting just three times in the top flight before spending a portion of the campaign with the development squad.

He was made available for a loan departure the subsequent summer, joining Twente after a number of clubs had expressed an interest in signing him. He played 15 games for the Enschede side, scoring three goals.
