David Wagner previewed Norwich City’s Championship return against Burnley - and we had all the key lines first direct from Colney.

The Canaries face a stiff test against the Premier League-bound Clarets in Wagner's first league game at Carrow Road on Saturday lunchtime.

City have kicked their heels since beating Coventry City, after a free weekend due to Birmingham City's FA Cup involvement.

Arsenal youngster Marquinhos joined on a loan deal in the closing days of the transfer window. Fellow winger Christos Tzolis also returned to his parent club after cutting short his stay at FC Twente.

Wagner will assess the duo in the remaining training sessions before a final decision if they are part of his Burnley plans.

Angus Gunn is ruled out with a hip problem. The keeper felt something at training on Wednesday and is scheduled to visit a specialist in London on Friday.

Ben Gibson is fit after a calf issue but will not be involved this weekend as his partner has given birth to a baby boy.

Joe Rowe (ankle) and Przemyslaw Placheta (shin) are back in light training but Wagner does not expect either to be involved until mid-March.

Sam Byram (hamstring) is also unlikely to return until March.

The German also gave his reaction to City's transfer finale that saw the likes of Jordan Hugill and Todd Cantwell depart permanently, and Danel Sinani head to Wigan on a loan deal which takes him to the end of his current Carrow Road deal in the summer.

Newcastle loanee Isaac Hayden recently underwent further knee surgery. City had no option to terminate the loan last month but Wagner was hopeful the midfielder can return for the 'closing weeks of the season'.
