Norfolk MP and former prime minister Liz Truss is plotting a return to high-profile poltical life after a "breather", according to national reports.

The nation's shortest-serving PM is reportedly ready for a comeback - and intends to put pressure on her Conservative colleagues to pursue policies which drive growth.

Ms Truss's brief stint at Number 10 saw the pound tumble while government borrowing costs soared.

She sacked her chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng following his disastrous mini-budget, but Tory MPs aligned with her tax-cutting agenda have former the 'Conservative Growth Group' to keep up the pressure on her successor Rishi Sunak.

And national newspapers have reported that Ms Truss remains convinced that her emphasis on the need for growth is the right way forward - and will make that point when she steps back into frontline politics.

Since she resigned as prime minister in October, Ms Truss has been focusing on issues in her South West Norfolk constituency, such as speeding in the village of Wretham and the future of the Royal Mail sorting office in Swaffham.
