Norwich City right back Max Aarons was the subject of transfer deadline day interest from two Premier League clubs.

Aarons remained at Carrow Road despite 'offers' from a top flight duo to be part of David Wagner's tilt at Championship promotion, according to The Sun.

The England Under-21 international has previously been touted with some high profile clubs at home and abroad, but The Sun reported on Thursday afternoon the £10m-rated full back opted for a Carrow Road stay.

Aarons will have 12 months left on his City contract this summer, when the attacking full back is likely to be available for a lower fee.

The Sun previously reported as many as 14 clubs scouted the double Championship title winner during a thumping 4-0 win at Preston that got Wagner's league spell off to a bang in mid-January.

Fulham were listed, along with clubs in Portugal, France and a potential reunion with Daniel Farke at Borussia Monchengladbach.

The Canaries opted not to recall full back option Bali Mumba from his loan spell at Plymouth last month, and go into the second part of the season with Aarons and Sam Byram as recognised senior right backs.

City boss David Wagner indicated those reports of deadline day interest in Aarons did not reach him, when he spoke to the media on Thursday afternoon to preview Burnley's upcoming Championship visit.

Wagner did also confirm Byram remains out for another month with a hamstring issue.
