Christos Tzolis has an opportunity to be a special ingredient in Norwich City's push for the playoffs.

That's according to left-back Dimitris Giannoulis, who was delighted to see his compatriot return from his loan spell at FC Twente last month.

Tzolis made his first appearance for the Canaries since returning from the Netherlands when he came on as a substitute in their 3-0 defeat to Burnley on Saturday.

David Wagner pushed hard to bring the 21-year-old back to Norfolk - with Tzolis also making it clear to his loan club that he wanted a return to Norwich after frequently speaking with senior figures at Carrow Road.

Giannoulis, who played alongside the young winger at PAOK, believes Tzolis has an opportunity to add an extra dimension to their attacking efforts.

"I'm really happy for him to be back," Giannoulis said. "He is a good friend of mine. We've played here and back in Greece. I think he will help us get promoted in the end.

"He has impressed, for sure. It is a big chance for him. He has been great in training, and I believe he will get his chance in the team.

"We've spoken almost everyday because he is a player for Norwich and he wants to know what is happening here. Now he is back he will see it for himself."

Tzolis, along with loan signing Marquinhos, will be tasked with providing some spark into City's attacking efforts - especially at Carrow Road.

After their 3-0 defeat to Burnley, Norwich have now won one match in their last 11 attempts at home. If the play-offs are the aspiration, then changing those type of statistics will need to be a priority.

"The manager is saying the same thing," he said. "We need to win some matches at home. This was only three points but we need to get three points from Bristol now and we will be alright.

"We have to keep going. We will be ready. The first 20 minutes was not good. Things didn't go the way we wanted.

"Burnley didn't create anything from open play so it is disappointing but we cannot do anything now. We didn't get three points and we need to learn our lessons but I think we can do it. Everyone here is working hard."
