TILBURY 0 LOWESTOFT TOWN 2

Lowestoft secured another three points with victory at Tilbury but they needed massive help from their hosts with both goals.

A strong gusty wind and a heavy pitch made life difficult for the players but although Lowestoft saw more of the ball most attacks were breaking down at the edge of the 18-yard box.

Jake Reed and Adam Hipperson tried their luck from distance but couldn’t hit the target.

A couple of Louis McIntosh corners saw Reed's header blocked in front of goal and Harry Knights header was inches high.

Tilbury had to wait until the 38th minute before they threatened the Lowestoft goal when substitute Charlie Heatley forced Warren Burwood into an excellent save.

Seconds after the start of the second half Rhamar Garrett-Douglas was cautioned after bringing down Hipperson just outside the area.

Although McIntosh’s free kick was on target Chris North saved down by the foot of the post.

Tilbury then had a good spell which saw Burwood brilliantly save from James Ewington.

Moments later from a left wing corner Burwood again made a superb save to deny the home striker.

Lowestoft were soon on the offensive again and a long throw from Charlie Norman was flicked on but Reed’s close range touch hit the post and came out.

Although in control of the game Lowestoft were not creating many chances in the box but they were gifted the lead in the 63rd minute.

Tilbury keeper North was played into trouble with a back pass and as he tried to hack clear, the ball cannoned into Rhys Logan and fell nicely for Reed to tap into an empty net.

Straight from the kick off Lowestoft regained possession and Hipperson cut inside from the byline and his driven cross was turned into his own net by Harry Donovan.

Lowestoft then had a purple spell which saw a Dave Hinton drive saved by North who then turned over Dylan Ruffles header from the resultant corner.
