David Wagner previewed Norwich City’s Championship home game against Cardiff City - and we had all the key lines first direct from Colney.

Kieran Dowell has been ruled out since the second part of April after suffering knee ligament damage in the midweek win over Birmingham.

Wagner did confirm Dowell suffered the issue early on taking a shot smothered by John Ruddy, but does not require surgery.

Josh Sargent (ankle ligaments) is not expected to return until mid-March. Sargent suffered the issue last week at Wigan and was not involved in midweek.

Teemu Pukki will be in the mix for Cardiff if he trains without any issues later on Friday. Pukki missed the last two Championship games, and sat out the previous one against Hull after being named among the substitutes, but picked up a calf problem during the half-time warm up.

The City chief indicated he had no other fitness issues from those who featured in midweek.

Joe Rowe (ankle) started and scored on Friday lunchtime for the development side at Colney in a 2-2 Premier League Two draw against Middlesbrough.

Przemyslaw Placheta (shin) is back in light training but Wagner had previously indicated he did not expect either to be involved until mid-March.

Sam Byram (hamstring) is also unlikely to return until March.

Newcastle loanee Isaac Hayden underwent further knee surgery earlier this year. City had no option to terminate the loan last month but Wagner was hopeful the midfielder can return for the 'closing weeks of the season'.

Hayden was included in the club's updated Championship squad list following the close of the January transfer window.
