Every year, when the fixture list is released, there is always an away game a lot of us Norwich fans lick our lips over, so we pencil in the date and plan our trip.

If that lot down the A140 are going to prefer an away day at Forest Green to us, then we’ll just have to go for the next mouth-watering fixture which I’m sure, for many Norwich fans, is a trip to London.

With Queens Park Rangers, another great away day, being a midweek game next month, I’m sure this season's big away day is Millwall.

It seems popular - as I write this, according to the club, we have sold both upper and lower tiers of the away end so it looks like we will have 3,000-plus Norwich fans at The Den.

Over the years, Millwall has had the reputation, rightly or wrongly, as not the best place to go as an away fan because some of their fans can be, let’s just say, more than just vocal. I personally have always enjoyed going there. Hairy at times but overall it’s a good away day. There are a lot of good people at Millwall.

It’s a million times better than some sterile places I can think of. The atmosphere will be loud from the Millwall fans as I’m sure their fans will be right behind their team from the first minute. This is where we need to be just as loud.

The away games recently have been fantastic, mainly because of the impact the drummer has. Whatever your opinions are on the drum, you cannot deny it has helped with the atmosphere.

On the pitch it’s going to be very tough for sure. So they will need us, no doubt.

In our last four games, it’s been excellent that we have picked up 10 points, but I must say I thought all of them, apart from Wigan, were truly awful. I don’t think we can honestly judge exactly where we are going to be come May. We may know a little bit more over the next six games.

The likes of Millwall, Sunderland, Sheffield United, Blackburn Rovers plus our old friend Neil Warnock and his Huddersfield team are not going to make it easy, like we did with the three sides we just played at Carrow Road.

It’s not going to be pretty either, but hopefully, come Easter, we can look forward to the final six games with a lot optimism.

But first it’s an away day in London ... luv it.

A good start!

Great to hear on Monday from the club that, finally, Norwich City Women’s team will get their chance to shine at Carrow Road for a league game against Ashford in April.

I have not seen the Norwich City women’s team as much as I would like, but when I have watched them this season, I have been throughly impressed by them - and it’s not just the football that has impressed me. The set-up at The Nest is first class.

I have taken my daughter Amelia to some of the games and she has enjoyed herself on every occasion. I’ve had numerous people chat to me about taking their child to a Norwich game but they are a bit reserved for many reasons - too busy or they get easily bored.

I have suggested to those people about trying out a game at The Nest. It’s a lot easier to take a young child to one of these games than a men's first team game with a crowd of 27,000 as their first game.

A friend decided to try it couple of months ago and came back to me on how they were wonderfully surprised how good the experience was.

So if you are thinking about going on April 16 when Norwich City Women take on Ashford Women at Carrow Road, go for it - but don't forget there is a game at The Nest on April 2 against Chesham.
