COGGESHALL TOWN 1 LOWESTOFT TOWN 3

Lowestoft made it four consecutive wins with a routine victory away to Coggeshall Town.

The home side were forced to play most of the game with 10 men after the early dismissal of captain Paul Ahern.

Lowestoft took control from the start with Adam Hipperson’s drive deflected wide and Owen Murphy curling the ball just wide.

They took the lead in the 14th minute when Kyle Haylock charged down an attempted clearance for Sam Johnson to cut in from the right and blast the ball into the roof of the net from a narrow angle.

Worse was to follow for the Seedgrowers as just two minutes later Jake Reed got behind the back four and as he raced towards goal with just the keeper to beat he was barged over by Ahern, who received a straight red card leaving Coggeshall to play out the final 74 minutes with 10 men.

Lowestoft made full advantage of their extra man constantly pulling the home defence apart and it took an excellent reflex save from Tom Middlehurst to push a deflected Hipperson shot around the post.

Lowestoft were not to be denied though and increased their lead in the 29th minute.

From Murphy's corner, Reed had a couple of attempts blocked before Haylock hammered the ball home.

Lowestoft put a truer reflection on the scoresheet with a third goal on the stroke of half time.

Reed again beat the offside trap to run clear, round the keeper and find the net.

The second half introduction of Stan Leech put more fight in the Coggeshall team.

They managed a consolation in the 55th minute when a long ball sent Darnell Kithambo clear and he went past Warren Burwood to walk the ball into the net.

However there never seemed any likelihood of a comeback with Lowestoft content to play out time.
