Discussions over Max Aarons' Norwich City future will take place in the summer, the right-back has confirmed.

The 23-year-old enters the final year of his contract in June and has had to contend with hefty speculation over his future since breaking into City's side in 2018.

Despite bids from Barcelona and Roma, along with interest from others both domestically and on the continent, Aarons has remained at Carrow Road and performed professionally throughout his time in Norfolk.

Since emerging through the club's academy, Aarons has made over 200 appearances and won the Championship title twice.

Aarons has also played in the Premier League and been a regular in England's U21 set-up. He is currently on duty ahead of a double header of friendlies against France and Croatia.

He is likely to feature in Lee Carsley's squad for the upcoming European Championships this summer - the last tournament he is eligible to feature in for the Young Lions.

Upon his return to Norwich, the focus will be on the remaining eight matches and ensuring that City can nudge their way into the top six - starting with Sheffield United next weekend.

Only then will the full back and his representatives from New Era decide what happens next.

Aarons has become adept at answering questions on his Norwich future - and says he will hold talks with the club at the end of the season, with various different scenarios in the offing depending on how it concludes.

"Being promoted twice, playing in the Premier League, you could say that (that he has achieved everything at Norwich)," he told PA Wire from England's U21 base.

"I am genuinely looking at the next six-eight weeks and what we can achieve. There's an expectation to be promoted straight away; if we can do that then that's what I'm focused on.

"After that we'll sit down and speak, as we do every year. There are a lot of different scenarios, whether we're promoted or not, that will ultimately effect what happens in the future."
