Norwich City’s Max Aarons and Teemu Pukki have reflected on their recent 200-game milestones at Carrow Road, discussing their memories so far in yellow and green.

Aarons’ 200th appearance came in last month’s 3-1 win over Birmingham City, while Pukki reached the landmark in the 3-2 victory at Millwall 11 days later.

The former has performed consistently throughout his five years at senior level, prompting interest from the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Roma.

He came through the youth system at Colney after joining from Luton Town in 2016, making his debut in 2018 under then-head coach Daniel Farke.

The Finn, meanwhile, has scored 88 goals and assisted 29 since he joined the Canaries on a free transfer in the summer of 2018.

Speaking about the 200-game landmark, Pukki said: “It means a lot. I’ve been here nearly five years, it’s been my home for quite long – the longest in my career. Really, really proud to have played 200 games.”

Aarons added: “Yeah, same for me. I’ve been here in the first team the same amount of time, and I’ve played with (Pukki) every year.

“ It’s been a lot of ups and downs and it’s been a crazy journey. I’m just proud to have played so many games now.

“(I remember) being really nervous (in my first match), and feeling a bit of pressure. It was Stevenage in a cup game, and the team wasn’t doing too great. I just instantly wanted to impress.”

Pukki may be known for his poaching instincts, but he’s scored some impressive goals since arriving from Danish side Brondby. The 33-year-old knows which team his best strike came against, but he can’t separate two of his favourites.

“My best goal was probably Newcastle, the volley,” he continued, talking to official club channels. “I don’t know which one – away or home.

“The away was with the leftie and went straight in the top corner, but at home we won 3-1 and I scored a hat-trick – the feeling was great.”
