Norwich City loan export Bali Mumba has returned to the club for assessment of a knee injury sustained while with Plymouth Argyle.

Mumba dislocated his knee cap in the Pilgrims' Good Friday win over Morecambe, having to be stretchered off after being introduced as a substitute.

Initial assessment of the injury suggested it wasn't as bad as first feared, however, and the 21-year-old returned to training this week. But strength tests on his knee ruled him out of Argyle's derby meeting with Exeter, as Schumacher revealed following that game.

"We wasn't able to get him in," he said. "We had that testing done for him and his scores were slightly lower than what we would have wanted.

"We spoke to Norwich about it, so he's going to go back this weekend just to see them, see their club doctor, make sure they are all okay with it."

Schumacher remains hopeful Mumba will appear again for Plymouth, as they chase promotion to the Championship.

He continued: "Obviously he's their player and we have to abide with what their medical team say. It's not serious, he probably just needs to build up that area and hopefully we get him back as soon as we can."
