Galatasaray will begin negotiations with Norwich City over a transfer for Milot Rashica this summer, president Dursun Ozbek has confirmed.

The Kosovan winger, who has spent the season on loan to the Turkish side, has been touted with a permanent move for months.

The latest reports in Turkey suggested Gala would be looking to strike a deal of around €7.5m for the 26-year-old this summer.

Rashica has been a hit with Galatasaray supporters throughout his loan spell - recording eight goal contributions in 21 matches so far this season. He has found form recently, netting three times in his last five appearances.

Galatasaray look likely to try and convert his stay at the Nef Stadium into a permanent one this summer. They are currently six points clear at the top of the Super Lig with seven domestic matches remaining.

Rashica's Turkey-based representative Aykut Ercetin revealed earlier this month that the City winger would be open to remaining at the club beyond the summer.

Club president Ozbak was asked about Rashica's future by Turkish media recently and although he confirmed that they would be interested in extending his stay, the focus remains on their push for their first Super Lig title since 2019.

"The transfer has yet to start. Milot Rashica is an important player for us. Negotiations will continue (after the season ends)," Gala's president told Turkish media.

"I think it is extremely wrong to get into the summer mood before the championship ends. We will continue like this until the last week. We will continue with the same attention."

Rashica joined City as part of their big-spending summer in 2021. The winger joined from Werder Bremen for a transfer that could become a club record deal.

His first campaign ended in Premier League relegation and he made his desire for a fresh challenge clear in the summer. Rashica did feature in the opening four Championship games for City this season.

With City likely to be in need of funds this summer, they are understood to be open to negotiating a deal that would see Rashica depart the club permanently.
