Norwich City full-back Bali Mumba can't wait to be part of the Canaries' first-team plans after an award-winning season on loan with Plymouth Argyle.

The 21-year-old was recently revealed as the Pligrims' players' player of the season, having already won the League One young player of the year accolade at the EFL's annual awards.

City head coach David Wagner has confirmed that Mumba is part of his plans for next season, as he looks to overhaul a squad that finished 13th in the Championship.

"I'm looking forward to going back," he told Plymouth Live. "It has been a full season here (at Plymouth). It's another fresh beginning for me.

"It's another season for me to go and continue the work I have done here and take it on to Norwich and hopefully I can also bring success there."

The former Sunderland prospect has already seen plenty of success in his career, but believes Argyle's third division triumph trumps the lot.

He continued: "I have won the Championship with Norwich, but this one here tops it all off.

"This one meant so much. I played a lot of games, and it felt unbelievable to go up not just automatic but as champions. You can't get any better than that.

"It's something I have been dreaming of for months since coming here, especially when we were in the top two. That's why I was rubbing my hands and thinking 'this is a great opportunity for us to really fight and go all the way'."

Mumba was delighted to win the player of the season award, saying: "This one is special, coming from my team-mates. Every single one of them deserved it, every single one of them played a huge part in the success we have had.

"For me to be the one to pick it up, it's special. I'm thankful to the lads and just delighted to get the award.

"It's a special club, a special team, special fans - it's just everything about it. It has been amazing to represent the club.

"I'm super grateful for the faith they have shown in me, to play me, and to take me as one of their own. When a club does that, and when you come in and feel so comfortable, the way you want to repay that is by putting in performances.

"That's something I will live by, and I will always go by no matter what team I'm at if the gaffer and the club have given me an opportunity and a platform to play. That's big for me."
