While much of the focus this summer will be on Norwich City's transfer activity, many of their most recent successes have come from their own academy. Here are five players currently in the Colney youth ranks who could be next.

Brad Hills

After making multiple appearances in senior matchday squads last season, it would be no surprise to see Brad Hills play his first minutes for the Canaries next term.

A physical defender, Hills was born in Norwich to City-supporting family, and worked his way through the academy before signing a contract until 2025 last year.

At just 19 there's still plenty of time for him to improve, and early opinions from behind the scenes suggest he could be a big player in future.

Speaking to the Pink Un in April, he said: "Being a local lad, all my family are Canaries, and I've been here since knee height. So I love playing here, and hopefully can do it in front of a full stadium one day.

"I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing, keep trying to score goals and hopefully keep some more clean sheets."

Lewis Shipley

If Hills does make his debut next term, he wouldn't mind playing alongside Lewis Shipley.

The pair forged a strong understanding when playing for the club's under-18s together, and have both since been promoted to the under-21s.

Shipley, who joined City's academy at seven years of age and is a boyhood fan of the club, has been part of England's youth setup and is also highly rated by club staff.

Notable qualities are the 19-year-old's technical ability and reading of the game.

He played the full 90 minutes as Norwich were beaten 1-0 by Hibernian under Dean Smith last summer, and will be hoping to break into first-team consideration once more during 2023-24.

Flynn Clarke

There was considerable hype surrounding attacking midfielder Flynn Clarke after he was signed from Peterborough United in the summer of 2021.

The Canaries don't pay fees for young players unless they see significant potential in them, and that was certainly the case for the now-20-year-old.

He enjoyed an impressive first campaign with the under-23s, but missed the crucial penalty as they were knocked out of the promotion play-offs.

That didn't stop him securing a loan move to League Two last summer, however, but his move to Walsall was cut short after just a month in the West Midlands.

But he's established himself as a fixture back in Norfolk, and is a name on the lips of many supporters as he enters his third year in yellow and green.

Regan Riley

Similarly to Clarke, Regan Riley was signed by Norwich in 2021 after making first-team appearances for Bolton Wanderers.

He reportedly cost the club £250,000, and they'll be hoping for a return in the form of first-team appearances before long.

With a string of impressive performances put together in the under-21s' midfield, that could well come next season if an opportunity opens up.

He's already got one third tier appearance under his belt, but will be hoping to make an impact in the Championship as soon as possible.

Tom Dickson-Peters

Given his goalscoring record at various youth level, it's a surprise Tom Dickson-Peters is still yet to make his senior debut for the Canaries.

He's scored 23 Premier League 2 goals in 46 appearances, including an astounding 15 in 13 (with six assists) in the 2021-22 season.

That earned him a loan to Gillingham, where he played nine times but didn't score, before he spent the second half of last season on loan with League Two Grimsby Town.

While not as successful on the game time front, he did score his first senior goal while a Mariner, in a 3-0 win over Crewe Alexandra.

He'll hope to repeat the trick two tiers higher with City next campaign, and with a striking department in flux, now could well be the time.
