Crystal Palace are considering an approach for Norwich City centre-back Andrew Omobamidele, according to reports.

The Eagles' first-choice defender Marc Guehi could be set for the exit door this summer, and The Telegraph have claimed they see Omobamidele as a potential replacement for the England international.

Norwich have been open about the likelihood of selling the Irish international this summer, with him and Max Aarons potential cash generators for the overhaul sporting director Stuart Webber has planned.

A fee of more than £20million could allow the 20-year-old to leave Carrow Road, according to the report, after Webber revealed at a recent press briefing that he's turned down a significant offer for Omobamidele in January.

That offer was said by the Welshman to be worth more than Ben Godfrey's £25million move to Everton back in 2020, and it's hoped that a similar figure can be reached for the sale of his fellow defender this summer.

Speaking about the policy for raising funds via player trading after referencing that bid for Omobamidele, Webber told the Pink Un in May: "We're fortunate as a club that how we've run it, how we've tried to run it, is to make sure that we don't have a gun against our head.

"Sometimes we choose to sell the player, because it's the right thing maybe to reinvest in the squad."

Omobamidele made 35 appearances for the Canaries last term, captaining the side as the campaign drew to a close after club skipper Grant Hanley's season-ending achilles injury.

He's already got six full caps to his name after breaking through City's youth ranks to make his first-team debut in 2021. He's reportedly also the subject of interest from Sheffield United, with European giants AC Milan another club linked.
