Former Norwich City head coach Daniel Farke is set to take charge of their Championship rivals Leeds United.

That's according to a report from the Daily Mail, who claim he's emerged as the Yorkshire club's leading candidate after talks took place yesterday (Friday).

Scott Parker, who spent time on loan at Carrow Road during his playing career, was also said to be in the running alongside former Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira.

But the German is ahead of the pair, the report claims, with personal terms already being discussed by Farke and Leeds.

That means he could be set to return to the Carrow Road dugouts before long, with Norwich scheduled to face United at home on 21 October. The two teams meet again at Elland Road on 27 January, and will both hope to be in the promotion race by then.

There have been reports suggesting current City sporting director Stuart Webber could reunite with Farke as the Lilywhites' new chief, after the former's resignation from his post in NR1.

It's understood that no talks have yet taken place, but Webber is being considered by Leeds, with his notice period up next March.

The 39-year-old could leave before then, however, if another club paid compensation, or if a replacement for him is found.

Leeds have hired a short-term plug for that gap, with Nick Hammond appointed interim football advisor, but with only a three-month contract secured for Hammond there remains room for a long-term appointment.

Farke's prospective new role could boost Webber's chances of securing the role, after their joint success with the Canaries.

The pair won Championship titles with Norwich in 2019 and 2021, beating Leeds to promotion in the former season.

The German went onto a brief spell with Russian club Krasnodar, before taking charge of Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach.

The Foals finished 10th in Farke's first campaign at Borussia Park, but it was mutually agreed following the season's conclusion that he would leave the club.

He was briefly linked with a move to Celtic after Ange Postecoglou's move to Tottenham Hotspur, but the Scottish champions opted for Brendan Rodgers instead.
