Tim Krul is set to undergo a medical with Premier League newboys Luton Town on Tuesday after an agreement was struck with Norwich City.
City's shot-stopper is preparing to end his five-year association with the club and will travel outside Norfolk to undergo his medical on Tuesday afternoon.
If all goes as expected, Krul will be officially unveiled as a Luton player later this week - becoming the latest to sign up to their Premier League survival mission after being leapfrogged by Angus Gunn in the pecking order at City.
Krul will first report to Colney on Tuesday morning to say farewell to his fellow team-mates and staff before travelling to Bedfordshire in the afternoon for the first part of his medical checks that will likely prolong into Wednesday. That will rule him out of Norwich's Carabao Cup trip to QPR.
Luton have considered a host of experienced goalkeeping options to challenge Thomas Kaminski including ex-City man John Ruddy, who is now poised to remain at St Andrews, and have settled on Krul after agreeing a fee with Norwich.
Norwich will recall young Scottish goalkeeper Jon McCracken from his loan spell at Dundee to allow new goalkeeping coach Paul Clements the opportunity to assess him having not worked with the 22-year-old before.
McCracken joined the Scottish Premiership side earlier this summer and started their first game of the season against Motherwell earlier this month.
City will re-enter the market to sign a deputy for first-choice keeper Angus Gunn to allow their young keepers an opportunity to head out on loan. That is unlikely to be free agent Jed Steer.
Krul will return to the Premier League having made 169 appearances for Norwich, with 65 arriving in the top-flight.
The Dutch international won the Barry Butler Memorial Trophy in 2019/20, becoming the first goalkeeper to win the award since Andy Marshall claimed it back in 2001.
Krul has been a popular figure with supporters and overcame knee injuries that ended his long-standing spell with Newcastle to succeed with City. He has been a key figure behind the scenes and is well-regarded by all at Colney.
He played a key role in both of their Championship title-winning seasons under Daniel Farke and starred in difficult Premier League relegation campaigns.
Norwich have been open to his departure all summer in order to save in wages and Luton have met their valuation of the 35-year-old.
