Two north Norfolk toilet blocks given top award

The public toilets at Stearman’s Yard in Wells-next-the-Sea and in Queen’s Road, Fakenham, have been given ‘diamond’ grading in the Loo of the Year Awards Scheme for 2023.

Councillor Tim Adams, leader of North Norfolk District Council, said: “We are pleased that further investments in our public conveniences have once again been recognised by Loo of the Year.

“Our commitment to delivering new and improved facilities to support local shopping centres and the tourism economy continues with work to commence next at Albert Street in Holt.”

Stearman’s Yard public toilets in Wells (Image: NNDC)The Stearman’s Yard Car Park loos were in December 2022. They include male and female toilets, two gender-neutral toilets with 24-hour access, Changing Places facilities, disabled access toilets and baby-changing toilets.

The Queen’s Road Car Park loos were opened in spring this year.

The competition aims to highlight, recognise and reward the best washrooms throughout the UK and Ireland.
