Suffolk is expected to be hit by thundery outbreaks throughout this week, despite temperatures rising.

The Met Office has said that temperatures are set to rise as the week goes on, but are still warning of more heavy rain.

A spokeswoman for the Met Office said on Monday Suffolk will see a good deal of sunshine throughout the day, although could turn cloudier in parts of the region across the afternoon.

It is expected to be dry and breezy with maximum temperatures of 16C.

It will be a sunny start to Tuesday although cloud and heavy showers will be spreading from the south during the afternoon and into the evening.

There is the potential for thundery outbreaks, but temperatures could reach 19C.

From Wednesday to Friday, the Met Office has said those living along the coast could see fog and low cloud.

There is also a threat of heavy and thundery rain spreading north on Wednesday.

The Met Office has said more inland areas will remain warm.
