A passionate football fan, who spends his spare time coaching a local under-10s football team as well as a powerchair football team for wheelchair users, has won tickets to see Norwich City play Manchester City.

Jamie Robinson, 34, from Attleborough, won a pair of tickets and a VIP matchday experience after his name was randomly selected as the winner of a competition organised by Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust (NCH&C).

NCH&C recently ran a Come on Board competition to encourage more people to sign up as members, as part of its bid to become a foundation trust.

As winner, Jamie has two hospitality tickets to see this Saturday's Premier League clash at Carrow Road, as well as a three-course matchday meal hosted by former Canaries star Darren Huckerby.

The prize was made all the sweeter by the fact that Mr Robinson did not even know he was in the running, having been entered into the competition by his partner, Catherine.

Jamie, who sprays cars at Lotus, said: 'I was at work when I got a call from Catherine saying my name had been pulled out of the hat and I had won the prize. I couldn't believe it.

'It is a really great prize, I love seeing Norwich play, but I don't get to see them as often as I'd like. And it is my 35th birthday a few days before the match, which is a great way to celebrate it.'

In his spare time, he coaches the Morley Under-10s football team, which he has managed for five years.

The powerchair team, Norwich City, are currently top of the Wheelchair Football Association's Championship league and have recently won promotion again – meaning they will play in the Premier League next season.

Jamie added: 'We have a real mix of players and ages on the team, from Rosie who is 13 up to Mark who is in his 40s. We have had a great season and everyone in the team has played really well. But most importantly we've all had a good time.

'Unfortunately though, the team does need further funding so we are always looking out for sponsorship. So if anyone is interested in getting involved or supporting us, I'd love to hear from them.'

Ken Applegate, NCH&C's chairman, said: 'Jamie is such a worthy winner. He has clearly dedicated a lot of his time to helping others to get involved in football, with both his under-10s and powerchair teams.

'I am also delighted to have Jamie as a Member of our Trust. Drawing on his own experiences, as well as those of his family and friends, will really help to inform what we do in the future so we can get better and better for the benefit of local patients.'
