Lowestoft Town may have had a midweek reprieve thanks to the weather but their injury problems show no sign of abating ahead of their Ryman League Premier clash at home to Dulwich Hamlet tomorrow.

Tuesday evening's scheduled match at home Wealdstone was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch giving Lowestoft a few days respite from their mounting injury problems.

However, joint boss Ady Gallagher revealed the club is likely to have just nine senior players available for the visit of Dulwich after Andrew Fisk (ankle) and Curtis Haynes-Brown (knee) joined an ever-growing casualty list.

'We had a bit of luck on Tuesday but there was no way the game could be played,' said Gallagher, whose side drew 2-2 at Thamesmead last weekend. 'But we're unlikely to have any players coming back for Saturday. Adam Smith will hopefully be a bit closer after a hamstring injury and Dan Gleeson is also not too far away.'

Gallagher admitted there is not enough money in the club's budget to strengthen the squad despite their dwindling numbers.

The club decided at the start of the season to run a reduced squad but injuries have struck over the past month forcing the club to blood several of its youngsters.

'The reality is that we are running with a reduced number of players,' he added. 'We have suffered a fair number of injuries but the club obviously still has to pay these players – the money is not there to spend on the squad at the moment.

'It's very important that we safeguard the future of the club and don't put it in any danger.

'Players have come to the club to be successful and that hasn't changed. It is still a recoverable situation for us – we just have to get through this injury crisis and we will try to kick on from there.'

Gallagher conceded the situation is far from ideal and is struggling to remember a time when the club's playing squad was so stretched during his time at the Meadow.

However, he hopes the club's youngsters can take their chance despite the fact they are being thrown in ahead of schedule.

'We've got some really talented young players and it's up to them to seize their moment really,' he said. 'It is probably a bit earlier than we would have liked but it's a chance for them to come in and show us what they can do.

'They've got a bright future ahead of them.'
