The young Canaries secured their first FA Premier Academy League home win of the season but the wait was well worthwhile as Neil Adams' young side smashed four goals past Arsenal in a dominant performance.

The Gunners could consider themselves fortunate that they did not concede several more as City ran riot.

Inside the first minute, City had a huge shout for a penalty when Carlton Morris was bearing down on goal and appeared to be tripped, but the referee was unimpressed.

With seven minutes gone, Norwich opened their account when Cameron Norman robbed the full-back and calmly slotted the ball home.

Four minutes later, City went 2-0 up when a cross from goalscorer Norman to the near post caused panic in the Arsenal defence and Roderick Young tapped the ball home.

City keeper Liam Sharpe had to pick the ball out of the net when the visitors thought they had pulled a goal back, but the referee had already blown for shirt pulling.

After 24 minutes, City were awarded a penalty after Morris was brought down and Cameron McGeehan made no mistake from the spot.

Late in the first half, Arsenal had Arinse Uade sent off for a second bookable offence when he foolishly kicked the ball away.

After 53 minutes it was 4-0. City were awarded a free-kick from which the Arsenal keeper could only block McGeehan's effort and Morris was the first to react to fire in the rebound.

Arsenal had no answer to City, who might have had further goals from Rian Carroll, who had a good effort saved, and substitute Rhys Browne, who fired wide from a good position.
