Pilkington played 40 times for the Terriers in the 2010/11 season, scoring in six consecutive games in October and November, bagging 14 goals in total and made the PFA League One team. His injury kept him out of Huddersfields final promotion push and their play-off final defeat by Peterborough at Old Trafford.

He helped guide Stockport to victory in the League Two play-off final in 2008, scoring their second goal and setting up the third, picking up the man of the match award.
