Two goals in the final 10 minutes saw City's Academy side sink to their second consecutive away defeat and they were beaten 3-1 against Arsenal at London Colney today.

Despite the reversal David Williams was pleased with his sides performance knowing full well that the Gunners would have plenty of possession and that the young Canaries would have to deal with that and this to their credit they did well for 80 minutes.

After coming under pressure during the opening minutes City hit back in the best possible way on 10 minutes when Seb Muddel chased a ball down to the corner flag and after getting the better of the full back he sent in a low cross that Kris Renton got on the end to finish from the edge of the six yard box.

Arsenal continued to have the upper hand but City defended well but with only eight minutes to go before the break the home side drew level after they were awarded a penalty. Williams was pleased that his young side retained their discipline in the second half and while they found themselves on the back foot for long periods they still had a couple of half chances to regain the lead. However, just when it seemed City might get something out of the game Arsenal took the lead on 80 minutes a left wing cross was finished from close range and then just two minutes later a similar move however down the right flank saw City concede a third goal yet again from close range.

Norwich City: Arnold, Cooper, Matthews, Miller, McLean, O'Toole, Eames (Kelly 72), Daley, Renton (Smart 75), Lathrope, Madel. Subs not used: Quaye, Burn

Norwich City man of the match: Damon Lathrope.
