It's the time of year when many managers complain about having too many games to play in a short period but Croft cannot wait for the festive programme to start.

Four games in 10 days provides the ideal chance for the 21-year-old to get back to his flying best following an ankle ligament injury, which has kept him out for nearly two months.

“It's great to have so many games in a short period of time especially for me as I've been out for a while,” said Croft. “I'll be able to get my match fitness back over Christmas and it's great for the fans having so many games to watch.”

With 12 points up for grabs, Croft expects to see Norwich a lot higher in the Championship table after the packed Christmas schedule.

“Three or four wins will see us move right back up the table and that's where we think we should be. We know the ability is here so we just need to do that on a Saturday afternoon.

“We still think promotion is a possibility - we know we need to get a good run of results together. Having four games in a short period of time will be really good for us.”

The former Manchester City man believes the Canaries would be a lot higher in the table already had it not been for injuries to key players.

“Throughout the season we've had quite a few injuries to key players. We've had Hucks and Earnie out, but if we keep all our players fit I think we've got a really good chance and I'm sure the manager will bolster the squad in January.”
