Norwich City were quick off the mark to bolster a group who needed help after a bruising relegation from the Premier League. But Chris Lakey takes a look at what their Championship rivals are doing to prepare for the big kick-off on September 12.

Norwich City are leading the way in the Championship’s summer transfer window as they look to make a quick return to the top flight after relegation.

The Canaries remain in the market for reinforcements ahead of the Championship kick-off, following a burst of seven early arrivals following relegation, although of that group Sebastian Soto looks headed for a loan in Holland while Matthew Dennis will begin in the Under-23s set-up.

These are the major deals that have gone through so far across the English second tier, although some clubs have seen some well-known players leave after their contracts ran out – like former Canaries striker Chris Martin, at Derby County.

OUT: Connal Trueman (AFC Wimbledon, loan), Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund, £20.7m), Alvaro Gimenez (Cadiz, £2.4m), Corey O’Keeffe (Mansfield, free)

Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director, Michael Zorc said: “Jude Bellingham confidently chose BVB and, of course, was primarily concerned with the sporting perspective that we showed him. He has enormous potential that we want to develop with him in the coming years. He already has a surprising amount of quality in his own possession as well as against the ball, and on top of that, the player also has a strong mentality. We immediately see Jude as a reinforcement for our professional squad, but of course we will also give him the time to get used to the higher level.”
