City midfielder Owain Tudur Jones is poised to extend his loan spell at League One rivals Yeovil.

The 25-year-old is scheduled to make the final appearance of an initial one month stint at Huish Park against MK Dons tomorrow before returning to Carrow Road.

Glovers' boss Terry Skiverton confirmed he wants the player to stay after scoring once in six appearances - although Tudur Jones would be ineligible to feature against his parent club on March 6.

“Owain will be going back, because he's got a week left leading up to the Norwich game, and he can't play in that one,” said Skiverton. “We'll have dialogue with Paul Lambert, who has been excellent and has been very good with letting us have Owain, and I think Owain has done a tremendous job for us so far.”

Skiverton added that the final decision would rest with player over an extension to his west country stay - with Tudur Jones recently becoming a father.

“We've got to wait and see how we do,” he said. “We understand as well that Owain has just got a brand new child as well, so he'll be wanting to go back for the week to spend a bit of time with his family.”

Tudur Jones had featured only six times for City this season due to a niggling groin injury but wanted regular match practice to force his way back into Lambert's plans.

“I'm fully fit now and raring to go but I need some first team games under my belt so I can play a part here this season,” he said. “It won't be easy dislodging the current team as they are doing so well so I need some games to give myself a chance because we have a lot of very good midfielders at the club. The boys have performed brilliantly and while I am delighted for them and the club, I am disappointed I haven't played a larger part in the success.”
