Group Football Editor Paddy Davitt has posted his marks following the Canaries’ 1-0 Premier League loss to Aston Villa

Here is Paddy's verdict on Daniel Farke's men, who sunk to the bottom after miserable Boxing Day outing to Villa Park.

- Tim Krul

Another shift where he was under-worked, in comparison to some of those early season overtime shifts. No chance with the quality and precision of Conor Hourihane's winner. 7

- Max Aarons

Bounced back strongly on a personal level from his error against Sheffield United. Front-foot attacking bursts to the byline in the second half served up a number of excellent chances. None bigger than Sam Byram's header. 7

- Christoph Zimmermann

Did a job on Wesley, in contrast to how the Villa man terrorised City's defence at Carrow Road. Couple of key blocks on the edge of his own area but unable to get to Hourihane. 7

- Grant Hanley (C)

Far more comfortable in general play than his comeback against Wolves. Which perhaps says more about Villa's fitful attacking urges. But in the bigger picture a decent understanding forming with Christoph Zimmermann. 7

- Sam Byram

One header bounced down and against Tom Heaton's bar in the first half. A flying far post effort after the break had Heaton beaten but veered inches wide. 7

- Alex Tettey

Early booking put him on the back foot a touch. Too easily beaten inside his own area by Jack Grealish in the lead up to Hourihane's winner. 6

- Tom Trybull

Similar pattern again to recent games. Looks comfortable with Norwich enjoying possession but unable to alter the adverse currents when rivals' rally. 6

- Emi Buendia

Another clever pass freed Teemu Pukki for a big first half chance. Also clipped the corner Byram headed against the bar. 7

- Kenny McLean

Dragged a low shot wide with Heaton at full stretch. No lack of work rate either. 6

- Todd Cantwell

A little pre-match fitness scare when he needed some massage to his left knee. But played a full part albeit never quite able to get himself centre stage. 6

- Teemu Pukki

Not the same finisher since Leicester and that heavy bang to his right foot. Couple of first half situations he would have gobbled up in his pomp but tried to check back inside and found traffic. Carried a huge burden to this point. Needs other to step up. 6
