Farke reveals why the heat is on Villa ahead of City relegation clash

Daniel Farke insists the pressure is on Aston Villa in Boxing Day’s Premier League survival tussle at Villa Park.
Norwich City head to the Midlands three points and one place below Villa in the bottom three.
But Dean Smith's side have lost the last four and are without key injured duo John McGinn and Tyrone Mings.
"You would have expected them to be in a much better position," said Farke. "We are perhaps in the sort of position most people would have expected.
"We don't want to be down there but we knew we would have this type of struggle and we want to improve the position in the table. To do that we need to win some points. I'll let others speculate how big it is.
"Maybe there is more pressure on Villa because it is a home game and they've spent so much money. We know this isn't a friendly game, this is an important period.
"I wouldn't look to over-interpret it or read too much into it.
"But Villa will be under a little bit of pressure after losing the last four Premier League games and spending more than £150m in the summer."
Farke's side were also hammered 5-1 at Carrow Road in October's corresponding fixture and the City chief knows they have come up short too often against direct rivals.
"It would be a big boost for us to gain points out of these type of games and for us our new year basically starts on Boxing Day. We need to be as competitive as possible," he said. "Go back to when we beat Newcastle.
"They were in a poor position in the relegation area or a draw at Bournemouth, who were in a much poorer position than they are right now.
"But yes we would like to have also taken points against teams like Sheffield United, Watford or even the home game against Aston Villa.
"Everton have been involved in the relegation battle and when you look at the individual quality of the players it's actually unbelievable that they have been in this position.
"At this level small details can make a big difference. If you are 2pc or 3pc off in any topic at this level you can struggle. But the same is also true. You can gain a lot of momentum with two or three positive results.
"That's what we're hoping for and I'm pretty convinced Villa have the same potential."
