Daniel Farke admitted Norwich City’s 2-1 FA Cup win at Burnley reminded him why he is ‘so in love’ with his players.

City booked a place in Monday's fifth round draw after the Canaries' fringe players grabbed their chance at Turf Moor.

Grant Hanley and Josip Drmic sealed a last-16 spot for only the second time in the past 13 seasons.

"I always believe in my players, but this was one of the games why I remember why I am so in love with these lads," said Farke. "Several have not featured in recent weeks, and they might be a bit moody and not dancing on the tables when they are not selected, but they delivered as individuals and a team.

"A committed, spirited performance which says a lot about the character, the spirit and the attitude of my group. I was delighted.

"I have been told if we can get to the sixth round that would be the biggest success in this competition in 30 years.

"We are greedy and want to go further on. We knew Burnley was a tough place to go, but the quality of our performance was top class."

Clarets' rival Sean Dyche admitted afterwards league survival was far more important, but Farke had no such dilemma.

"I am a deep believer in cup competitions. My feeling is it can have a big boost and a positive influence in the league," said Farke. "It also gives game time for players not involved in recent weeks. We were top class against Bournemouth, a top class performance at Tottenham, with an unlucky outcome, and then another top class away win at Burnley.

"We feel we are heading in the right direction and we want to be as successful as we can in the cup and keep working on our little miracle, In terms of performance I don't think we are that far away."
