BIG MATCH PREVIEW: Play it again Daniel as Canaries look to hit the right notes at Liverpool
Heavy metal meets rock and roll when Norwich City bid to upset the odds in a daunting Premier League opener at Liverpool on Friday evening.
Jurgen Klopp's brand of high pressing, high intensity football at Borussia Dortmund and in the early part of his Reds' stint earned him the 'heavy metal' moniker.
Farke laughed off suggestions on Thursday he has developed a more refined culture during his two year stint at Carrow Road, as the comparisons between the two German head coaches and former Borussia employees formed the inevitable backdrop to a special night for the Canaries.
"It is up to you guys to judge it. Rock and roll if you like," he said. "We pretty much want to be the protagonists and have the ball for the whole 90 minutes, but that is not realistic. Our approach will always be to attack and be proactive.
"You won't see us park the bus. It is 11 against 11 and you try to bring the ball into the rectangle. That was the same in the Championship and it will be the same at Liverpool.
"It is good when top coaches are working in a good way and Jurgen is a role model and a door opener for other German coaches. When you watch the way Liverpool play, how he created that togetherness, you can clearly see it is a Jurgen Klopp team.
"I like clubs and coaches who are able to bring a certain style."
Farke is looking forward to his touchline duel with Klopp but the bigger priority is setting up a team to try and thwart Mo Salah and pals on Merseyside.
"Even in Germany I am asked have I spoken to Jurgen? You don't have time in this business to sit and talk about philosophy," he said. "Jurgen has a big job at Liverpool. It is good when you get compliments from a world class coach.
"Much better than him saying I am no good. I can't speak highly enough about Jurgen. What he is doing is fantastic.
"He was top class at Mainz, then Borussia Dortmund and the job at Liverpool is outstanding. He has won the Champions League and had more than 90 points in the Premier League with a great brand of football.
"It is not just Salah. I think they have a few decent players available.
"It doesn't differ too much to preparing my team for a Championship side. Of course the individual quality is higher but you have to find some topics where you can be unbelievably good. Against Liverpool, many things have to come together."
