Norwich City have reportedly entered the race to sign Hibernian striker Florian Kamberi - who spent the second half of the season on loan at Rangers.
The Swiss born striker is said to be available for transfer during the upcoming window as Hibs look to cover the costs created by the coronavirus pandemic.
According to a report in the Scottish Sun, Kamberi will have a host of potential suitors, including City, attempting to acquire his services.
Swiss title competitors St Gallen lead the way for the 25-year-old, with the prospect of Champions League football thought to be a persuasive factor in any potential deal to bring Kamberi back to his homeland this summer.
They have a one-point advantage over Young Boys with six rounds of the Super League remaining.
Championship clubs Huddersfield Town, Hull City and Middlesbrough are mentioned alongside the Canaries as holding an interest in the frontman, as well as a host of unnamed European clubs.
However, The Scotsman are reporting that Hibs have not received any official bids for Kamberi, who has one year left on his contract at Easter Road.
Kamberi’s has become persona non grata amongst Hibs fans after he revealed that he had dreamt of playing for Rangers prior to his move in January.
The striker netted once in six appearances for Steven Gerrard’s men - with the 54 time Scottish champions asking for updates surrounding Kamberi’s future.
The Scotsman’s report suggests that Rangers would be willing to strike a loan deal for the forward but Kamberi is pushing for a permanent transfer with Hibs keen to recoup the six-figure fee paid out to land the player following a successful loan spell in 2018.
The 25-year-old began his career with Grasshoppers in Switzerland before joining Hibs on loan. He scored nine goals in 14 games to earn himself a permanent move to Easter Road later that year.
City currently have Teemu Pukki, Josip Drmic and Adam Idah as their primary striking options as they prepare for another season in the Championship.
