Daniel Farke savoured a priceless 2-0 triumph against Everton but insisted they still have to defy the odds to stay in the Premier League.
Todd Cantwell and Dennis Srbeny's maiden Premier League goal sealed a first away league win of the campaign to end a run of seven games without a victory since beating Manchester City.
Norwich moved off the bottom of the table but Farke insisted it is the boost to their confidence that was of far greater importance.
"The dressing room is buzzing and so it should be," he said. "Results are good for the mood, the confidence and the spirit.
"A great day for us. Without any doubt. A fantastic away performance and a well-deserved win and a first clean sheet away win. We have had a dry period and that is always difficult but we have come to a tough place, against a team who had not lost in three and when you see the quality they can introduce from the bench it is not like we are the favourites.
"These lads have had so many injury problems and this was probably the first time this season we have had two fit centre backs on the pitch.
"What a difference that makes to our stability and because all topics are connected in football you could see that helped our possession and our attacking play as well.
"An all-round performance. We showed when we have some luck with injuries we can be competitive on this level. We are realistic.
"We know we won't win the Premier League and we are still the favourite for position 20 but we showed here when we stick together and we have players available with this quality and mentality we have a chance in each and every game."
