No football but no shortage of talking points involving Norwich City and the Premier League, as the game tries to deal with the coronavirus shutdown. Paddy and Dave discussed some of the key issues.

The Premier League continue to draw up contingency plans but await clear guidance from government and public health bodies to restart the season ‘when it is safe to do so’.

Brighton owner Tony Bloom made it clear at the weekend clubs like the Seagulls, and Norwich City, who were embroiled in a fight to stay in the division cannot be relegated if the remaining fixtures are unable to be completed in full.

In Bloom’s opinion any suggestion along those lines would not carry the required weight of support among the member clubs. Do you agree and what would that mean for the make up of the league and the financial dimension moving forward?

The Brighton chief also said there is likely to be an inevitable correction to the next transfer window, with the economic impact on society set to be felt in every industry.

Given City have plenty of saleable assets, how would that impact on the club’s self-sustainable model? Particularly if they miss out on expected revenue in terms of ticket sales, commercial deals and broadcast payments from a failure to resume the season.

What is your solution to get football back up and running when it is safe to do so? And what does the football calendar look like moving forward?

Norwich also confirmed Danel Sinani had signed a pre-contract prior to the Easter break. His Luxembourg coach, Luc Holtz, provided some added insight into the type of player City have recruited on these channels over the weekend. But what other areas will Norwich need to address in their recruitment strategy?
