Daniel Farke admitted Norwich City duo Christoph Zimmermann and Onel Hernandez are not expected to be fit for Leicester City’s Premier League visit.

The pair were not involved in Sunday's 3-0 defeat at Wolves and Farke revealed afterwards he feels the turnaround is too quick for the Foxes' Friday night league visit to Carrow Road.

Zimmermann was ruled out with a hamstring issue while Hernandez could require fresh surgery on a knee injury.

"Christoph has a muscle strain. I would say at this stage he is very doubtful for Leicester already," said Farke. "With Onel no final update right now. It looks like he needs another surgery so he would be out for a few weeks. But we haven't had the final decision yet. I think he will be out for a bit longer."

The Canaries' head coach labelled the defeat at Molineux a 'missed opportunity' with many of their relegation rivals getting beat over the same weekend. But City were unable to cash in after another worrying blank in front of goal continued a depressing theme.

"It is a concern because goals change games. You saw that in this stadium," said Farke, who has now watched his side go more than 500 minutes without a goal in open play in the league. "The home fans were getting a bit annoyed until they scored twice. Then it is about another great day, a clean sheet. Yes, we need a cutting edge.

"That is a big task for us if we want to get the points we need to stay in this league. It is not about beautiful football and nice passes but sticking it in the rectangle.

"We have one of the smallest squads. I don't have five strikers and five wingers so you have to back them. I know they will leave their heart out on the pitch. Our striker options not involved in this game was a 19 year old striker with one appearance in the Premier League.

"It was a big chance for us. Not so much because of the other results but a performance gives us a chance to win points. You have to sense this opportunity and give your life in every duel. I had the feeling we were a bit soft, a bit scared in these duels.

"It is not easy against a team like Wolves but you have to be convinced and accept the challenge."
